WELCOME

Interspec Research & Development is currently involved in a variety of new technologies both in and out of the water, Electrical & Mechanical design and development subject to clients requirments.

NEW development included the addition of the interiour page where you can view our new LED lights and accent lighting.

Recent live testing of our new underwater lighting systems fitted to an Advanced Diver Systems and Construction ROV (Triton XLS) the information and media footage can be located on our projects page.

We are also currently developing educational robotics courses for Autistic spectrum children with the guidance of the Mosaic learning center, The robotics development course will allow parents to implement an additional educational tool to assist in the understanding of autism in addition to seeking alternative methods that capture the attention of the children. This is a non-profit development and donations are appreciated for our educational projects.

Our range of underwater Laser, Light and Camera units that are available for sale to the general public please check out the items for sale on our store page on the top menu bar, These have all been proven in the energy industry with help from several offshore companys based in USA and Europe.

Below is a list of our completed projects, Developed with assistance with local educational facility's and businesses.

Underwater Drop Camera LIghting System

Recent development of a lighting system for a client in Australia shows the Poseidon lighting system in a drop camera configuration. This lighting is outputting over 3150 Lumens of light and running at only 3 amp for all 3 lights, The system is to be used for commercial diving operations and wreck diving in the west coast of Australia.

Underwater ROV Control System

Mechatronics ENGR 466 Integrated Mechanics and Embedded Systems Project class of summer 2010

Our current project with University of Victoria in British Columbia is the Underwater ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) Control System, in collaboration with Interspec R&D; the purpose to produce a core control systems for the hobbyist and educational environments the system should therefore encompass the following parameters.

Modular design with the ability for future expansion, Inexpensive to fabricate, Simple set-up and operation, GUI configured for special needs children allowing easy operation from game pad controller or joystick.

Scope of the project was to create a modular system that integrates video to surface computer, environmental sensing, ROV orientation, and Bi-Directional open-loop thruster control. The GUI (Graphical User Interface) to allow smooth communications between user and hardware; this includes the integration of a game pad type controller to control the thruster movement via user on surface computer.

Underwater periscope

The underwater periscope project is a concept developed by local educators and entrepreneurs to allow the general public a closer more interactive look at our marine life, This unit is a low cost observation platform and will allow live video and scientific data to the user direct via a observation window, as you can imagine we are all very excited about this project and we will have pictures soon as things progress if you would like to join the project please contact us.

We hope to be able to actually link up all the observation sites UOMs (Underwater Observation Modules), this allowing a network of usable data such as salinity, temp, tidal movement; So marine research facilities, universities or even a curious individual can look up the data and observe the results.

mini ROV deVELOPMENT

The ORCA ROV was developed several years ago, The concept was to produce a working ROV capable of basic underwater maneuvering and high quality video footage in a compact cost effective package that didn't cost the earth, The concept was created around off the shelf components allowing easy access to them for schools and educational establishments and keeping the cost to an absolute minimum.

ORCA MK 3&4 working platform

There are a number of photos and design illustrations available on the ROV page within this site, we also sell plans for the MK3 platform these consist of design drawing set with engineering drawings and lists of the materials required to build you own ROV; all sales from these go strait onto the development and donation of ROV units to school groups, we do not profit from sales of these plans however the kids do have a rather large smile on there faces so its actually priceless.
